I’ve been working for what feels like forever to perfect the perfect chocolate cake recipe, and I think I’ve finally done it! I’m so excited to share this one with you. Fluffy, moist and delicious with a rich chocolate flavor, this easy to make chocolate cake recipe will soon be your favorite too!

The Best Chocolate Cake Recipe
This Chocolate Cake Recipe is so fluffy, moist and delicious it will soon become your family's favorite go-to recipe.
Ingredients
- 2 cups (220 g) flour
- 1 3/4 cups (350 g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cups (88.5 g) pure cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons (8 g) (fresh) baking soda
- 3/4 teaspoon (3 g) baking powder
- 1 teaspoon (5.6 g) salt
- 1 cup (240 g) buttermilk
- 1/2 cup (109 g) vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 3 teaspoon (4.2 g) pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup (236.6 g) hot water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees and spray 3 eighth inch or 4 six inch cake pans with cooking spray, line with parchment paper, and spray again. Set Aside.
- In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa, salt, baking soda, and baking powder. Stir until combined, and set aside.
- In a medium bowl, combine eggs, buttermilk, water, vanilla, and vegetable oil.
- Combine the wet mix into your dry, and mix just until combined. Do not over mix!
- Divide batter into your pans, adding 12 oz in each six inch pan, or 16 oz in each eight oz pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out of the center dry or with moist crumbs. Let cool before removing from pans, and then wrap layers in Saran Wrap before freezing prior to stacking and decorating your cake.
