Graduation is right around the corner, and these edible graduation cap toppers are sure to put a smile on any grad’s face! These graduation cap toppers come together with three easy ingredients, and they are so easy to make. I love sticking them on top of cupcakes, but they would work great on many desserts!
What You’ll Need
Here is a list of everything you will need to create these cute toppers:
- Ghirardelli chocolate squares (I like using dark chocolate ones so the color is closer to black)
- Peanut butter cups
- colored buttercream in a piping bag. This is a fun spot to add a custom touch. You can make the tassel in your grad’s favorite color, or in their school color! (you can either cut a very small hole on the end of the bag, or fit the bag with a piping tip. I use a Wilton #1 tip)
Instructions
Step #1: Unwrap your chocolate pieces.
Step #2: put a pea size amount of buttercream in the center of your peanut butter cup on the smaller of the two ends.
Step #3: Press your chocolate square down onto the buttercream, with the side with the logo side down.
Step #4: Using your piping bag, start from the center of the top of your hat and drag a strip of the buttercream out and over the edge of the square. Repeat this step until you have your desired amount of strands.
Step #5: Lastly, squeeze a dollop of buttercream over the starting point of your strands, and you are good to go! Place these on top of a frosted cupcake, or on any dessert of your choosing!
